Going solo at The Metropolitan Museum of Art

1 Hey everyone, I’m back and this time I wanted to share to you one of my many interest and that is visiting different museums in every country or place that I have been to. If you have been following me for quite some time you would know that museums or history always has a room in my heart. This time let me take you to my solo trip to the humongous Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. I hope you’ll enjoy your visual trip as much as I did when I went here.

I was fortunate enough to get in for free because of my relatives, little did I know that they were members and also shares the same interest with me. I was amazed by the size of this place, imagine I was only able to see 1/3 of this place and it took me 3 hours, probably I was spending so much time in every piece of history that I see. First part was Egypt….

This section of Jacqueline De Ribes was amazing, for your information, she was a famous designer and fashion icon from France. She was famous for modifying gowns to create costumes for fancy dress balls. She was also the one who hired the young and unknown then Valentino to make her sketches. Her first fashion show was held in the home of Yves Saint Laurent where she got positive reviews from the fashion journalist Hebe Dorsey. But unfortunately for some reason I wasn’t able to take photos of the displays of her work. 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13

Now we go to my favourite part of a museum, paintings…  38 39 40 43 44 45 46 47 41These were just some of the history that i was able to take photo of and believe me, there were so many. Atleast I still have a reason to come back next time to see the other parts of this museum. I wish I wasn’t in a hurry when I went here, there were so much to learn, see and experience. I realized, going to museums by yourself is the best way to do it, you don’t have to rush, you don’t have to wait for others, you can go and see which areas you wanna go first, it was an amazing experience for me. Now if you haven’t been to this museum and have a plan on going to New York I really suggest that you reserve atleast half day to be able to see the entire museum and you will definitely won’t regret it. Next stop The MET on my next blog post. Have a nice weekend everyone.
